In the Nage region of central-west Flores, pairs of male and female figures representing ancestors were traditionally placed at the entrance of ceremonial houses of noblemen. This male figure (missing the arms and his female companion) is similar in style to the outdoor ana deos except that it was placed indoors. See Arc of the Ancestors by Jerome Feldman (p. 80) for a comparison piece in the UCLA Fowler Museum. Ex. Robert Wilson (US), and Davide Manfredi (France).
